About
Our Kits, General Information
To achieve the highest level of crisp and
deep-relief detail, our kits are hand-crafted in top quality tooling resin.
This material is sturdy and easy for you to work with. Designs and
pattern-work are by well-known Bob Lunde, originator of DPM and Magnuson
Models. The combination of materials and his talent results in extraordinary
realism and beauty.
In the Original Series kits, architectural details are cast in place except
for recessed doors and add-on items such as building signs. Parts are cast
in appropriate matte-finish colors, but some painting is required. Virtually
any paint can be used. Both gap-filling ACC and silicone glues are needed.
Complete text and photo instructions, as well as construction tips for any
building assembly, are included. The kits in this series will gradually
disappear as we remove them from production.
In the +Plus Series+ kits, there are separate, precolored windows as well as
tab-and-slot square corner locators. These kits are virtually flash-free, a
rarity in hand-cast kits. (You might have to pucker-up and blow away a thin
bit here and there.) Parts are cast in appropriate matte-finish colors, so
only the easiest painting remains...and not much of it. Have both
gap-filling ACC and silicone glues on hand for the easy assembly of these
kits. All future structure kits will be part of the Plus Series. |
